After a brief bout with a blood clot in his leg, The Captain was put mercifully to rest this morning. He was 12 years old. He loved to eat, sleep, sleep, eat, eat and rub up against people's legs. He was really big and a glutton for attention and petting. He was a good cat, and we loved him.
Fare thee well, Captain. You will be missed.
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts are with you.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your cat. We just put down our dog down a couple of months ago and it is heartbreaking. A pet's absence in a home is palatable and only time can make things a little bit better.

I'm sorry to hear this. The picture brought me up short; our most recent cat looked exactly, but exactly, like yours.
ReplyDeletePlease accept my condolences. I am sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your kindness. It feels a little weird to be posting to this blog without 16 lbs. of orange cat purring around my ankles.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences.
ReplyDeleteWe've got a ginger tom too and I know how strong an attachment can be formed.
I am so sorry for your loss. He looks like an excellent cuddler.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences, also, on your loss.
