Argyle, plaid and corduroy for the Squire,Plaid+plaid+wax cotton+ stripes+ tweed...+flannel+yellow socks+suede shoes for the Gentleman (term used loosely).
If only we had a rifle, a hound of some sort, and 400 acres of woods, I'd dress exactly like this every day. Instead we ran some errands and picked up Mrs. G from her doctors appointment.
Very nice.
ReplyDeleteStrong....very strong..both of you!
ReplyDeleteYou need half a dozen English fox hounds!
ReplyDeleteFour stars for the Dapper Duo!
ReplyDeleteWould it be odd to say that I would like to be your son!?
ReplyDeleteHe is very lucky to have parents who dress him is such an adorable manner. I would think that you find many of his clothing items at thrift stores, which helps him look a million times better than all those other children out there!
Add a tie with dogs and your set.
ReplyDeletefor some reason argyle is that much cuter in mini size! nice look all around.
ReplyDeleteGreat looks Giuseppe and son. I really like the hat Giuseppe. I was wondering though, why isn't the bottom button on your vest unbuttoned? Do you not subscribe to that "rule?"
ReplyDeleteI don't mind, but I had just noticed it.
Very nice regardless.
Conor
Great post, AAW! But, suede shoes with a Barbour? Hmmmm. I wouldn't do it; but splendid post anyway old chap!
ReplyDeleteWho's that standing next to the guy in argyle?
ReplyDeleteThanks all.
ReplyDeletePercy,
That's alittle weird but I'll take it as a compliment.
Conor,
I know the rule about bottom buttons on vests, but I find that the way maost vests are cut I have to wear my pants higher on the waist that is comfortable in order not to show belt buckle. Fastening the bottom button corrects this problem for me, so it's a rule I'm willing to break.
Laguna,
I get your point about suede and Barbour. However, it was sunny that day and those shoes are just too damn comfortable. Besides, small infractions against the rules are what style is all about, no?
Laguna,
ReplyDeleteOf course, Hunter wellingtons with mud all over them would have been the best footwear choice for this combo.
Perfetto!
ReplyDeletePiĆ¹ che perfetto. Perfettissimo!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that's missing is the mud-stains from the midday hike across the estate!
ReplyDeleteLove the look, you're putting us Brits to shame...
Perfection!
ReplyDeleteI like the socks, works well with everything. However, as someone who lives on a 350 acre farm and wears Wellies on a daily basis, I don’t get what all the excitement is all about. This is not a boot for style it is for work. For me I see nothing wrong with the shoe combination you have done here. Why must we all be so damn perfect all the time?
ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen the Harry Enfield Show?
ReplyDeleteTim but Dim? Never mind.

You seem to have some dirt or magic marker on your wrists. Been to prison recently?
ReplyDeleteAnon.,
ReplyDeleteIn my case, the "dirt" on my wrist is the result o time served in punk rock, not prison. I'm way too nerdy to commit a crime worthy o incarceration.
Well done! Loving this look. There needs to be more vests under waxed coats.
