Cottage Industry

Prior to the recent Top Shelf Flea Market II, I received numerous emails from my far flung readers to convince me to go live online. I'm in the process of setting up an online store. Forgive me for the lack of posts recently, and please bear with me. More vain drivel coming soon.

  1. I wish you the best of luck in launching your online store. I'm still getting mine together. Congrats on your success at the Top Shelf II.

  2. If you are aiming to do something online like at the Top Shelf, could you stretch the size range a bit? It'd be really cool if there were some items that could be used by the, em, larger members of your audience. Keep up the good work.

  3. A capital idea!

As a reader in Europe, who has faithfully followed your blog since the beginning, I certainly hope that you will accept international orders.

  4. That's a fantastic idea. You have some keen readers and classic menswear lovers in Australia who will be very excited.

  5. Amen!

I've lived in envy of your finds for far too long.

If you are planning stock, please keep 48R, 17x35, 38x32, and 9.5EEE in mind.

    Cheers!

  6. I am looking forward to that. Most definitely. Please make sure you get those tasseled loafers in a size 10. I want to get 3 in one go.

    All the best.

  7. As Anon above said, the fuller the size range the better. But I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum, please stock some 36 jackets!

Also, posting full measurements of stuff, like on a jacket, shoulder to shoulder, chest, length, sleeve length, lapel width, and rise, waist, and inseam on pants is super super important.

    Could not be more excited!

  9. Great idea! Congrats on the new business venture, I'm sure you'll do well. I'll definitely be looking for a 40R Harris Tweed SC soon.

  10. This will be AMAZING. I never manage to find anything like the stuff you get-- likely because of where I live, but I can only hope to be able to soon troll your wares for something!

  12. Wonderful! As an avid reader in Northern New York State, who cannot justify a trip to one of the live TSFM events, I am thrilled. Do accept paypal, if you please.

  13. Oh goodness! Good show, old boy!

Remember us small men are out there too! Kid's size 16/18 are a great sub for men's 36! Oh, and small shoes too!

  14. Good for you! Hope it's a huge success.

  15. Wow! Good for you. It may not be the bricks & mortar store of your dreams, but it's sure to be fulfilling.

Wishing you all the best of luck in your on-line venture!

  16. Great idea!!! Living in sunny California makes it hard to find items from the better brands that you seem to stumble upon with ease.

Like said earlier I hop you stock some items in XXL and 50 regular. In California we play football not Lacrosse so we will need some bigger sizes.

    God bless on your work!

  17. Perhaps I should remain anonymous also, considering the request, but yes us big boys need love and tweeds too

  18. Yes! Yes! This is splendid--good luck with it. (And I second the notion to include measurements of the garments, including the trousers' rise. I'm glad you appreciate high rise trews, as you indicate in the post RE: your recent moleskin acquisition.)

  21. Greetings from Bangkok, Thailand. I have been your blog fan for a while and I check update everyday. Good luck and I am looking forward to it.

  22. I second the emotion in re: consignment, or store credit, or sumpin' like dat. I have lost 65 lbs over the last year, and have a wardrobe of some stuff that I can't wear, but can't seem to find the energy to sell on ebay.
