Launch!

Mary Lin Moore christens the U.S.S. Impervious in 1952

An Affordable Wardrobe is proud to announce the official launch of it's new online store! You can go there by clicking on the link in the sidebar, or find us at http://www.shopanaffordablewardrobe.com/

So far, I have only a small sampling up of what's available: ties, sweaters, shoes and some sportswear. Jackets, coats, suits and trousers will be added soon. Shipping is available worldwide, and rates vary. In most cases, shipping cost will decrease per item for multiple item orders. Payments can be made securely using Pay Pal or credit cards. I do my best to make sure that all my stock is in top condition, and my prices are always low. Please bear in mind that all sales are final. (this is  second hand shop, after all)

I'd like to thank the many of you who have been emailing me looking for menswear for giving me the kick I needed to get something like this up and running. It's a work in progress, so bear with me as I learn the ropes and do what I can to improve the site. Feedback is always welcome.

So...check it out, tell your friends, buy my stuff, etc., etc.

Thanks and happy shopping,

Giuseppe Timore
Second Hand Haberdasher

"Internet Explorer cannot display the Webpage".

Any idea why?

Thank you so much! Finds the like of the AAAC Trad forum presented in an aesthetically pleasing way, organized in a way that doesn't require hours of scrolling! I'm considering a couple of your items, depending on whether an ebay loss on Monday frees up space in my budget...

Keep your eyes peeled for 42L jackets and suits!

And be sure to sell size 13 shoes, too.

Congratulations!

Thanks and congratulations. One suggestion: Please add the size in the title so we know rather than clicking on it. Thanks.

G: congrats on your new venture, I wish you much success.

May I offer a suggestion? Include sizes in the descriptions, before the jump. Otherwise the shop looks great.

Great job. Glad to see you're keeping the prices reasonable too.

I know where I'll be acquiring ties from now on! Unfortunately, the two I liked are now sold out.

Lord, deliver us from eBay.

Bravo and thanks for sharing the wealth. Or rather, letting us swap wealth.

Congratulations and best wishes for success!

Here's hoping you'll stock some smaller sizes, like 8 in shoes, and 36 short in jackets, and...

...well, I know you're just as much at the mercy of the thrifts as I--but you've got a much larger selection than I have around here!

Anyway, I hope it goes well. Can't be bad--you've already made some sales!

You're sold out of the ties I want! Congrats, you're doing well.

Great to see that things are going well! Congrats! I'm excited to see what goodies you put up here...

Perfection!

Awesome, Giu! You should let me hook you up with some higher-resolution banners for you in Photoshop and Illustrator though. Hell, I'm an unemployed graphic designer and illustrator, so I'd do it for shits and giggles. All I'd need is the highest-quality image you have of that tie image you're using.

Just scored that Lands-End rugby. P.S. If I ever see a certain pair of orange Quoddy boat shoes up on your store, I will have an aneurysm. ;)

G-

Cheers and "Huzzahs" drown out Chairman's concluding remarks, glasses raised and hands shaken all 'round, general atmosphere of "job well done", membership marches into street to strains of Red Sox fight song.

Another suggestion: Would it be possible to have an email list for the store to inform us when new items are added? Thanks.

Hmmm, I notice that you are size 9 1/2.

In case you have any shoes lying around that made you think "My, these fit well in the length dimension but are way too wide, like they were made for someone with wide ogre feet," then I call DIBS.

Hey Giusseppe,

Just wanted to pass on my best wishes. I've enjoyed reading your work for some time and look forward to purchasing from your shop.

All the best,

Just nabbed me a shirt!

I sense this is going to be a dangerous thing for my student budget...

G,

I have an idea. You've got a niche here. I bet the cheese is nice, but its really an act of charity. Right now reading your blog there are men all over the country drooling over your finds, but there's others (like me) who have built a serious wardrobe for pennies on the dollar for retail but still have a closet full of things that wont fit just hoping to find it's man. What if there was a way we could all sell this stuff directly to good hands without the headache of ebay and the members only feel of the informal trad exchange on AAAC. I.e. - can I sell my stuff that I buy hoping to match it up with a needy gentlemen? Make it happen! Get other sellers up! New website! More work and less money! But a good thing.

Congrats on the launch! And you thought you didn't get any sleep before? It's impossible to work on a website with offspring lurking...type~o's and punctuation are the first to suffer. You are going to have to trade in your late night apperitif for espresso. I still can't get your blog feed to work, fyi.
